2 Months Old and the Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend Alan went hunting so I went to visit my parents. My mom wanted to take the kids to the pumpkin patch so off we went.  It was the first day the patch was open so there were A LOT of pumpkins and most of them that we saw were really BIG.  The kids each picked out a couple and we rode the train and had a great time. Canyon slept the entire time.

Here are the pumpkin winners. These are the pumpkins that got to come home with us and were later painted splendidly.  I will have to take pictures of them soon.

Canyon is now 2 1/2 months old.  The time is flying by.  He is growing so much every day and getting cuter every day too.   He has started to play with toys a little and he smiles all the time.  It is the sweetest thing.  He is really happy unless he is hungry and tired and he is a good little baby. At his two month well-check the nurse measured him twice and then went a got another nurse to measure him because they couldn't believe he had grown that much since 2 weeks.  Here are his stats more for my own record than for your info:

Height: 24 3/4"  95th percentile
Weight: 11 lbs. 4 oz.  27th percentile
Head Circumference: 15 1/4"  41st percentile

As you can see, he is a long thing, especially compared to his weight. He has filled out considerably   He was so skinny when he was born and now he has a little meat on his bones, but he is still pretty long and slim.
I recently started putting him in the big tub instead of in his little tub. His little tub was so awkward and he was always sliding down funny. I have had two different baby bath tubs and neither of them worked well.  If you have one that works really well, please let me know so if I ever have another baby I can try that kind.  Canyon loves the tub and I like bathing him in the big tub so much more that in the little one.

I have already started to lose my milk so Canyon gets a bottle most evenings and sometimes earlier in the day too.  Alan fed him this one the first day we decided Canyon was hungry.  He slept so much better this night. (The night before he was up every hour really hungry.)  Two nights ago he slept 8 hours straight.  I would rather give him a bottle than let him be hungry, but it makes me sad it has happened so soon.  The other kids were a little older before they needed more than what I had.

I also had Sadie's baptism pictures taken. They turned out nice. I will post them sometime after I scan them into the computer.  Also, my 94 year-old grandma fell and broke her hip. She is doing really well right now but if you have any extra prayers you can send her way, I would really appreciate it. She has to start walking on it and then she can go home.  We really hope she continues to do well.

The pumpkin patch is always fun. With my kids I used the mesh tub insert thing, it worked really well, you can generally find them in most stores with all the small bathtubs, it's just something for them to lay on in the tub, and keeps them a little better supported.
It is so funny to compare him with Allison, this last vsit she was in the 5th percentile and the 12th. He is definitely long. I had to supplement all of my kids pretty much as soon as we got home from the hospital, it's sad, but not all bad.
