We had our first snowfall last Wednesday. Sadie woke me up early yelling,"Mom! It's snowing!" She was so excited. She wanted to go outside and play in it right then. We went out pretty early, but not as early as she had hoped. She likes to make snow angels and have snowball fights. Sawyer likes to clear the snow off of things like our benches and our cars. Even our cats liked the snow. I was surprised. It all pretty much melted by the end of the day, but we had fun while it lasted.

My kids think this is a great place to play. I'm surprised they fit so well.

So of all the jobs I, as a mom, get to do...Chef, Housekeeper, Nanny, Accountant, Nurse, Baker, Playmate, Preschool teacher...and so on, I have recently needed to test my skills in a whole new area...Veterinarian. Our cat Jessi (Jessica as Sadie named him, but he is a boy so we are trying to convince her to call him Jessi) came home Sunday night with blood all over him. I thought he had been in a fight. I tried to clean the injuries as best I could and sent him back outside until morning. Monday morning I cut the fur away from the sores and fount two round, BB sized holes, one on each side of his body. Someone shot our cat. It makes me a little angry since our cats really do stay home most of the time and are really nice. Anyway, luckily it didn't kill him. I don't know if Sadie could handle that. So every morning and every night since Monday I have cleaned the bullet holes and I have given Jessie a dose of Ammoxicillin. Pathetic right? The things we do for our kids. He is healing well and I think he will be perfectly okay in another week or so.
